Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level four Systems Engineer position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

As a Systems Engineer Level 4, you will be a pivotal member of our dynamic team, responsible for spearheading the design, development, and integration of complex computer systems, software, and networks. Drawing upon your extensive expertise in systems engineering, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ascertain precise requirements, formulate strategic plans, and oversee the seamless execution of projects from conception to deployment. Your role will involve meticulous systems integration, rigorous testing, and the maintenance of comprehensive documentation to ensure optimal performance and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will provide insightful analysis, strategic guidance, and technical expertise to senior management, facilitating informed decision-making and driving the successful delivery of projects. Compensation Minimum: $220,000

Compensation Maximum: $230,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance
• Profound understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security operations, encompassing adept management of software and hardware installations, alongside proficient IT service management and delivery

• Mastery of IT systems security, underpinned by a comprehensive grasp of principles, best practices, and cutting-edge technologies
• Desirable familiarity with an array of technical domains, including programming, database administration, virtualization, and LINUX, enriching the breadth of expertise
• Proficiency in IT service management methodologies, demonstrated by a deep understanding of the principles, practices, and processes encapsulated in ITIL frameworks
• Preferred experience operating within CMMI Level 3 (or higher) environments, showcasing an aptitude for thriving in structured, quality-focused organizational settings
• Engages with stakeholders to meticulously grasp precise system requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
• Orchestrates the comprehensive lifecycle of system development, encompassing the intricate design and deployment of computer systems, software, and networks. This entails defining intricate system requisites, specifying system parameters, and establishing operational processes
• Executes seamless systems integration and rigorous testing procedures to ascertain the harmonious coexistence and optimal performance of hardware and software components
• Assumes responsibility for overseeing the seamless transition of systems into operational deployment
• Spearheads the formulation and execution of meticulous plans encompassing system specifications, technical requirements, and logistical considerations, ensuring streamlined execution
• Cultivates a repository of comprehensive programmatic and technical documentation, indispensable for facilitating effective planning and execution endeavors
• Maintains meticulous records of system configurations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and streamlined management of system infrastructure
• Leverages profound domain expertise to deliver cutting-edge systems engineering and integration solutions for multifaceted projects
• Conducts incisive analyses and delivers succinct briefings to senior management, offering insights, analyses, and recommendations for expedited resolution of complex real-world challenges
• Provides invaluable analytical support and expert evaluation to bolster the capabilities of warfighters and facilitate seamless data exchanges across tactical, theater, and strategic domains
• Dispenses strategic engineering counsel and adeptly integrates emerging technologies into existing or prospective programs, deftly navigating complexities inherent in multi-level classification integration
• Provides robust support throughout project management lifecycles, offering keen insights into cost, performance, schedule, and risk considerations to ensure programmatic success
• Remains vigilant in evaluating technologies across readiness levels, discerning their suitability for integration into ongoing or future projects
• Delivers compelling briefings to senior leadership and stakeholders, aiding in the formulation and execution of project management plans and proposals to drive special capabilities development and cross-domain integration
• Delivers prompt and precise support for special capability initiatives, ensuring adherence to stringent deadlines and task requirements
• Champions research and development initiatives, exploring novel technical capabilities to enhance warfighter operations, while providing invaluable guidance in the integration process
• Constructs meticulously phased project plans to expedite program execution while maintaining a steadfast commitment to achieving objectives and milestones
• Facilitates the development and evaluation of air, space, and cyberspace projects, fostering collaboration across diverse government agencies and mission partners to assess the efficacy of integrated collection capabilities

Education / Certifications

Bachelor's and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; master's degree and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and ten (10) years or more experience

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense (DoD) active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and may include lifting thirty (30) pounds, as necessary.
