As a Principal Engineer within the Member Access Platform organization (Sams AdTech) you will be responsible to build highly performant AdTech platforms that will support our future growth in the Ads Space. MAP business is growing rapidly, and you will get to be part of the journey that supports omni-channel Ad tactics for millions of Sam's Club members as well contribute to the operational efficiencies for our business team members.

This role will directly interface with Engineering leadership and will define the target state architecture for MAP Ecosystem. We are looking for visionaries who have deep experience in leading large scale engineering initiatives, preferably with a focus in the Adtech space.

Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. What you'll do:

• Guide and shape the direction of overall technical strategy
• Develop and communicate clear technical vision and strategy that aligns with organization's business goals and objectives
• Build web scale systems that serve ads to millions of customers
• Build operational systems that enhances the productivity of our Ad Operations team
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and solve complex problems

What you'll bring:

• 10+ years of software development experience building distributed systems
• Strong hands-on experience developing RESTful micro-services in Java and/or Python
• 3+ years of proven work experience designing scalable and efficient web applications using React, Javascript, CSS and HTML
• 5+ years experience in evaluating, advising and architecting technology solutions working alongside engineering leadership
• Experience in Technical Solutions Architecture and design leadership.
• Experience leading a team of Software Engineers.
• Strong Experience with near real-time stream processing( Micro-services, Spark, Flink, Storm, and Kafka Connect ) at scale
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker on Kubernetes.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GCP technologies
• Experience leveraging third-party server side frameworks such as Sprint Boot, Django
• Experience with Relational, Document, and Distributed Databases (Cassandra, MySQL, CosmosDB, Spanner, or Dynamo)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively

The annual salary range for this position is $168,000.00-$252,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

- Stock equity incentives
