Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong background in accounting and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Review and analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and recommend adjustments.
- Lead and coordinate the month-end and year-end close process.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial operations as necessary.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred (or in progress).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience with financial audits and working with external auditors is a plus.
